Our History
Building began at the Grove Road site in the latter half of 1969. During the pre-opening year a newly formed interim P&C met in the private homes of the committee members. One major decision they made was in the matter of a school uniform. It was agreed that the school colours would be maroon and white. Walliston Primary School opened in 1970, with a student population of 86 and three staff. The community was instrumental in the setting up of the school oval and the planning of the grounds. This tradition continues at Walliston Primary School today with a high level of community engagement in many of the school programs.
