School Plans & Reports
Our School Business Plan has been developed in association with the school board and staff, and sets a clear, strategic direction for the school over the next four years. The plan outlines what we will do and what you will see as we work to continuously improve in our focus areas to support our students to be successful lifelong learners.
Our priorities are centred around the key curriculum areas of Literacy and Numeracy, as these are the corner stones of building solid understandings in other learning areas. Our other priorities are developing 21st century teaching, learning skills, environments and building emotional intelligence within our student group.
Our priorities for the 2021 – 2024 Business Plan are as follows:
- Literacy and Numeracy
- Emotional Intelligence
- Future Focussed Learning
The Annual Report is based off the teaching and learning practices seen throughout the previous year. I have had the privilege to visit our student classrooms on a regular basis, and this annual report is evidence of high-quality teaching that continues to occur every day for every child across our school.
This annual report is a snapshot of the highlights and memorable events of the year, and a record of the students, staff and community members who formed the Walliston Primary School community in 2023. In 2023, our school community provided numerous opportunities for our students, whether it was through cultural events, sporting experiences, performing arts events, experiences that prepare them for the future or provide our students with a voice to care for this world.
All Western Australian public schools are reviewed every three years by the Department of Education’s Public School Accountability directorate. A review gives assurance to the local community, the Minister for Education and Training and the Director General that a school is operating effectively and delivering high quality education to its students. The review acknowledges the achievements of the school and gives feedback to support the principal and staff with their improvement planning.
